About Us
 For 40 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh has provided young people with a safe place to learn and grow. The Club offers a dynamic learning environment that includes over 200 age-appropriate programs, mentoring by caring adult professionals and outstanding facilities, all for an annual fee of only $25 per child*. The Clubs are placed where they are needed most throughout the community. In addition to three clubhouses, the Boys & Girls Club also provides after-school care sites in seven elementary schools. By providing safe facilities, caring adults, and engaging activities, we help each young person realize their full potential. *Multiple child discounts & scholarships available Our Mission The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh's mission is to improve the lives of children and families. Our Vision Our vision is to be a generation-changing leading provider of programs emphasizing youth development services and family outreach support to meet the needs of young people ages 6 to18 years-old and their families. Five Core Areas of Programming: Here, at the Boys & Girls Club, we believe in five core areas of programming and development. These areas are: 1. Arts
2. Character & leadership 3. Education & career development 4. Health & life skills 5. Sports, fitness & recreation These core areas have been nationally proven, address today's most pressing youth issues and assist in teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life. Arts Our Arts core programming enables young people to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of visual and tactile arts and crafts, performing arts, and creative writing. Club members participate in a wide variety of activities from story telling, writing, musical performances, drawing, and painting. Special activities are planned and conducted quarterly to generate enthusiasm for the arts and cultural diversity. Character & Leadership Developing the skills today to be effective leaders tomorrow! Our character and leadership core programs empower our young people to support and influence their Club and our community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others' cultural identities. Education and Career Development What do you want to be when you grow up? No matter how a child answers that question, our goal is to help them build a strong foundation to realize their dreams. Our educational program track focuses on helping young people explore their options and reach their full potential. We are helping grow tomorrow's leaders today. Health & Life Skills Engaging young people in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, our health and life skills programming teaches the importance of setting personal goals and developing the competencies necessary to live successfully as self-sufficient adults. Sports, Fitness and Recreation "Children spend an average of almost three hours per day watching television, and 17% of children regularly watch more than five hours of television per day." -- U.S. Dept. of Education Engagement. Teamwork. Dedication. Our young people learn these valuable lessons when they are pushed to excel and given the skills to accomplish their goals. Our sports, fitness, and recreation programs focus on meeting each youth where they are at and helping them set goals to reach the next level.
